No, this isn’t a junk email, it’s for real. As part of its mission to“advance knowledge and education, and serve the world in the 21st century” the Massachusetts Institute of Technology has decided to put all their courses online for free. They call it Open Course Ware or OCW and the stated goals of the program are:

- Provide free, searchable, access to MIT’s course materials for educators, students, and self-learners around the world.
- Extend the reach and impact of MIT OCW and the “opencourseware” concept.
