Microsoft Surface Studio is a brand new high-end all-in-one desktop. This was launched just today at Microsoft’s New York event. The latest PC sports an astounding design along with some intense hardware specifications. The Microsoft Surface Studio will surely give a great competition to the hugely popular Apple iMacs. The new desktop is a limited edition product and sports a hefty price tag of $2,999.

 

The Surface Studio comes with a 28-inch PixelSense display. It features a resolution of 4500 x 3000 or 13.5 million pixels. This is higher than 4K (3840 x 2160 or 8 million pixels) but lower than 5K (5120 x 2880 or 14.7 million pixels). The screen sports 3:2 aspect ratio and a pixel density of 192 dpi. It supports up to 10 multi-touch points simultaneously. Coming to build, the Microsoft’s newest desktop boasts a top-notch design language along with a solid construction. It features a simple and minimalistic appearance.

Moving on to the inside, a 6th generation (Skylake) Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor powers up the Microsoft Surface Studio. This is combined with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 965M or GTX 980M GPU with up to 4 GB GDDR5 graphics memory. The Surface Studio comes with three different RAM capacities namely 8 GB, 16 GB or 32 GB. Storage-wise, you may choose between a 1 TB or 2 TB Hybrid hard drives.

Talking about software, the Surface Studio runs on Windows 10 Pro operating system. However, Microsoft does not provide any free office licence along with the desktop. Only a 30-day trial pack of Office is preinstalled. The Redmond giant has integrated a TPM (Trusted Platform Module) chip inside its latest all-in-one computer for enterprise-grade security. Face sign-in functionality is also present.

The newly launched desktop sports four USB 3.0 port among which one is high power supported. Other connectivity options include an SD card reader, mini DisplayPort, Gigabit Ethernet port, headset jack, dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz + 5 GHz) and Bluetooth 4.0. A 5 MP camera sits at the front of the Surface Studio. It can shoot Full HD 1080p videos. The all-in-one computer boasts 2.1 channel stereo speakers certified by Dolby Audio along with dual microphones.

In-box accessories include a Surface Pen along with a wireless Surface Mouse and Surface Keyboard. Specs-wise, the Microsoft Surface Studio comes in three variants which are Core i5 / 8 GB RAM / 2 GB NVIDIA GTX 965M, Core i7 / 16 GB RAM / 2 GB NVIDIA GTX 965M and Core i7 / 32 GB / 4 GB NVIDIA GTX 980M. Each of the models cost $2,999 (Rs. 2,00, $3,499 (Rs. 2,34,000 approx.) and $4,199 (Rs. 2,80,800 approx.) respectively. The brand new desktop is already listed for pre-order and will be released in December 2016.
